Leadership

Dr. Lewis is the founding pastor of Providence Bible Church. Before planting Providence in 2007, he served in ministry as a youth pastor, singles pastor, and lead pastor. He earned his M.Div from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and his Ph.D. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mike enjoys fishing, surfing, kayaking, and just about any activity outdoors. 

Matthew and the Jones clan have been at Providence since 2015. He and his wife Michelle have four children. Matthew loves teaching kids and adults at Providence. He is our VBS director and helps with the Providence website and social media. In their spare time, Matthew and Michelle enjoy going on dates (usually just to Target without kids), hanging with friends and family, and hanging at the pool, additionally, Matthew likes playing pickleball.

My kids and I started attending Providence Bible church in 2008 when we moved to St. Augustine from Loveland, Colorado, once we realized my daughter’s awesome Soccer Coach was also Pastor Mike Lewis! Because of my love for children I soon was teaching Sunday School along with other wonderful and Faithful Providence Volunteers, some of which have now been teaching in our Children’s Ministry longer than I have been attending. I work at our neighborhood Amenity Center as well as help administrate Amenity Athletics Soccer and Flag Football leagues, which I love because of course kids are involved! Since becoming a Grandma for the first time this year, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my Grandbabies. I am grateful for the opportunity to be serving God at Providence Bible Church in our Children’s Ministry.

Tom and his wife Cynthia have been attending Providence since 2014 when they moved to St. Augustine from Ohio. Tom has been serving as an Elder since 2016. In addition to leading a small group in their home on Friday evenings, Tom also serves as the church's drummer. Tom and Cynthia have two children, Sarah and John, and two grandchildren, Georgia and Charleston. In their free time, Tom and Cynthia enjoy the beach and hosting friends/family in their home.

Alan has been a part of Providence Bible Church since 2012. In addition to leading worship, he is the Studio Director at Destiny Dance Center, a Christ-centered music and dance studio founded by him and his wife Tiffany. Alan enjoys hiking, fishing, and surfing. He and Tiffany have four children: Caleb, Grant, Elsie, and Emery.
